TECHNIQUES:
1- MOUNT HIP ESCAPE: This mount escape deals with an opponent attempting a high mount control in a typical daily grappling scenario. For this position to be effective you should focus on framing against the hip to limit his mobility and to set you up for the following elbow escape guard recovery. Remember, your bottom leg should be flat against your elbow for the escaping action.
2- MOUNT UNDERNEATH ESCAPE: Sometimes, an opponent is too strong on top and he isolates your elbows before you can complete the previous mount escapes. A bridge helps move his weight forward and off you so you can make enough space to sneak out from under him. The underneath escape can be a last-ditch option to get him off you and end up in a crushing ankle lock submission. Be careful using this against a skilled opponent though because it can open you up to armbar attacks.
After this course, you are now prepared to drive into more advanced takedowns, drills, guard positions, passes, transitional changes, and submission series. You now have a solid basic understanding of what jiu-jitsu is and can perform many of its fundamentals.
