TECHNIQUES:
1- ARM-LOCK STEPPING OVER THE HEAD: Today we revisit the straight armlock, but this time from closed guard instead of mount. This is a great example that many of the submissions you do from mount can also be executed from THE closed guard. This time, your partner will have one arm extended on your biceps to keep you flat, and he will reach inside your legs to open your guard. When he does, an easy step over his head will secure the straight armlock.
2- OMOPLATA: The omoplata submission is great for smaller statures rolling against larger statures. Because the sub-mission is executed adjacent to your opponent, you don’t have to bear his weight on you as you do with other submissions. The omoplata is also a great sweep set-up.
