Hey Everyone,
I've been encountering a problem lately that I'd love to find a solution(s) for, and I'm totally ok with hearing that my approach needs to be completely modified as well.
I find this to be a struggle particularly against opponents who outweigh me, but I think whatever the approach is can be applicable to any frame. I'm encountering numerous situations where when I'm playing guard, my opponent would plant themselves on their knees, tighten up, and essentially become an unmovable object. My approach has been to try to get them to open up so I can stage some sort of attack: I'll try the collar drag, some sort of spider guard, arm drags from seated guard, anything to move them. However, I've been finding these attacks futile while they sit there and essentially fend off any grips I can make. Should I just wrestle up? Stand up and take top position somehow?
Thanks and any help is appreciated!
