TECHNIQUES:
1- STRAIGHT ELBOW LOCK FROM SIDE CONTROL: The straight elbow lock from side control is a great combination submission that works well with the key lock and kimura. Keep a grip on your opponent’s wrist and you can transition between the submissions seamlessly.
2- NORTH-SOUTH KIMURA: This week we review the north-south kimura. This time, trap his arm when he reaches around your arm, then move to north-south. Finish the kimura with a low drag toward his shoulder blade. The last north-south armbar finished from an upright 90-degree angle.
3- NORTH-SOUTH KIMURA TO ARMBAR: The north-south kimura also sets up a smooth armbar. Keep your kimura grip and shift all the way to your opponent’s other side to finish the armbar.
