TECHNIQUES:
1- BACK MOUNT ESCAPE: When an opponent has strong back control, it can be daunting to escape. It is best to take control of the situation before he makes his grips or you will be in for some trouble defending a choke. In this example, you will work to move your head away from his choking hand and get one hip free first. Then, face him to unravel his grip on your collar. Finally, step over him to finish in the mount!
2- CROSS FEET FOOTLOCK: The cross feet footlock is a quick and easy submission that you can get on an unsuspecting opponent. Here, he thinks he’s in a dominant position, but he crosses his legs and sets you up for a footlock. Be sure to go slow as you put pressure on his ankles so you don’t injure your opponent’s knees. It’s always important to give your opponent time to tap.
