TECHNIQUES:
1- SIDE HEADLOCK ESCAPE ARM FRAME: The side headlock, or kesa gatame, is a move often seen in judo. It is a strong control from the top, but it also opens up your opponent to armbars and back takes. This example uses a frame on your partner’s neck to make space and push him away from you. Then, you open your legs and catch his head while you trap his arm. This works as a double attack with both an armbar and choke.
2- SIDE HEADLOCK ESCAPE 2 – FRAME ARM AND RESISTANCE: Another variation of the side headlock uses your opponent’s resistance against him. You set up the same frames as the last move, but this time he keeps a strong grip on your neck. You ride his backward momentum to the top and then use a headlock defense to break his grip around your neck.
