TECHNIQUES:
1- STRAIGHT ARMLOCK: The straight armlock from side control can catch your opponent off guard. When he extends his arm close to your left side, take advantage of his mistake and swing your leg over his head for a quick armlock that he won’t see coming!
2- ARMLOCK FROM KNEE ON BELLY: The knee on belly position is an excellent position to find and attack the armbar. When you apply weight to your knee on his belly, your opponent will often give you his arms in an attempt to push you off him and relieve the weight on him. When he does, keep his arm and step over into an armbar.
3- STRAIGHT ARMLOCK (WRAPPING-FIGURE-FOUR) FROM KNEE ON BELLY: The straight armlock from the knee on belly is a quick finish. A huge benefit is that you don’t have to change positions while doing this submission so there isn’t a risk of losing a dominant position in transition. Be sure you keep your figure-four lock below his elbow closer to his armpit so he cannot sneak his elbow free and escape.
