Self-Defense DAY 15
15m
TECHNIQUES:
1- REAR CHOKE DEFENSE: The standing rear-naked choke defense uses a Seoi-Nage style shoulder throw to bring your opponent to the mats. To do so, you must lower your hips below your opponents and then drive him forward and over your shoulders with an explosive pulling force while your hips drive deeper underneath. As with all self-defense throws, be sure to land with sleeve control for follow-up submission attacks.
2- REAR CHOKE DEFENSE (WHEN PULLED BACK) SIDE THROW: A common counter to the previous technique is for your opponent to pull you backward while choking you to avoid the seoi-nage throw. When this happens, step outside of his forward leg while defending the choking grips and then step your free leg to the same side. This creates a bent armlock and a perfect set-up for the Osoto-Gari reaping takedown!
3- REAR CHOKE DEFENSE (WHEN PULLED BACK) OVERHEAD THROW: This is also a variation of the first seoi-nage defense but this time you will slip your inside knee behind his front leg. This action loads your partner up for huge takedown like this fireman carry (in throwing action) style reversal that rolls your opponent off of your back.
