Emily Leyva is one of our Juvenile Blue Belts and trains hard every day at Atos Jiu-Jitsu HQ. The past two weekends, Emily competed at ADCC Open in Tijuana, Jiu-Jitsu World League in Los Angeles, and the IBJJF American Nationals in Las Vegas. She had 20 fights and only one loss - in a black belt category!
She won not only her own division at the ADCC Open but also the advanced (black belt) division and placed second in the advanced open division.
Aside from winning the gi and no-gi divisions at the JJ World League, she coached the kids during the event!
In addition, she won four golds at the IBJJF American National - two golds in the gi in the medium-heavy division (since she is a lightweight), and two more in the no-gi division.
Check out her interview.
