IBJJF Black Belt World Champion & Atos HQ black belt Lucas Barbosa teaches Why He Likes The Modified X Guard Better Than Regular X Guard, during the 70am fundamentals class on 08/28/2017.
That's a modification of the Classic X Guard.
The Modified X Guard is an amazing type of guard where you can maintain better control, attack sweeps, be ready and counter-attack, and get submissions such as ankle locks. Making the transition from Collar/Pant Open Guard to a more effective X Guard Position will give you a better attacking position.
Lucas Barbosa received his black belt from Andre Fabiano in July 2015, before moving to California to train with Andre Galvao at the Atos Jiu-Jitsu Headquarters. He is a 4x IBJJF Black Belt No Gi World Champion; a 1x IBJJF Black Belt World Champion and a Bronze Medalist at the ADCC World Championship.
