The lapel guard is a way to maximize your leverage and maximize your results against stronger and bigger opponent, Barbosa use the systematic approach to locking down opponents and working for the finish, you can have a new total gameplan using the lapel grip from guard.
Lucas Barbosa received his black belt from Andre Fabiano in July 2015, before moving to California to train with Andre Galvao at the Atos Jiu-Jitsu Headquarters. He is a 4x IBJJF Black Belt No Gi World Champion; a 1x IBJJF Black Belt World Champion and a Bronze Medalist at the ADCC World Championship.
