World Champ Atos HQ black belt Lucas Barbosa teaches one of his favorite moves to pass the guards in no gi, the Windshield Wiper Pass, during the 7:30am class on 01/24/2019.
The no gi versions of the step over pass such as windshield wiper passes work great. Because there is no cloth to grab, even if you don’t successfully pass at first, you’ll most likely still be out of the guard and can attempt again or even make transitions such as kimura trap. With constant passing attacks, you will eventually get a full, completed pass.
Lucas Barbosa received his black belt from Andre Fabiano in July 2015, before moving to California to train with Andre Galvao at the Atos Jiu-Jitsu Headquarters. He is a 4x IBJJF Black Belt No Gi World Champion; a 1x IBJJF Black Belt World Champion and a Bronze Medalist at the ADCC World Championship.
